Kindertanz

The aim of the lesson is to create a bridge between well-founded, child-friendly, medically responsible dance technique, and the development and promotion of the individual creative self-expression of every child. The lessons are based on the child’s joy and natural impulse to move: The lessons are the perfect pairing of dance that is creative and free, and a carefully directed training based on the ballet system of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

For the youngest from the age of 4 – 6 years old, we start with playful discovery and a visceral exploration with all the senses. More structured forms and technique are craved by children as they move into elementary school. At the same time their improvisational skills are deepening, they explore their personal movement language, and are guided to direct their own ideas into creations.

From youngsters to adolescents, all children are supported as they find true expression and authenticity through dance. Dance also increases a child’s self-esteem and acceptance of themselves and their bodies. Performances and the experience of dance as an art form on stage are an important part of our school philosophy.
